Brilliant work as usual eric! I was wondering, how is it that all the people who worked on the game (whether inhouse or freelance) have the same texture quality and style? im guessing the lead had alot to do with it, but im wondering if you were given palettes to work off of?
thanks! Yeah, our lead brian jones did a good job making sure the art was consistent. i didn't really get palettes, but the concepts were usually fully painted and you could make a palette from them yourself. check out http://averycolemanart.blogspot.com/ to see some concepts. one of the things everyone was told to do, was to put gradients in their colors. if something was blue you might make it get slightly purple or greenish. also, always try to have some color in the dark parts of the texture, never just go to black.
